Kelly Dolak is a filmmaker currently teaching digital filmmaking at Ramapo College. Her short films have been screened at film festivals both nationally and internationally. Her short, Purse was showcased on PBS’s Reel New York and screened at more than 10 film festivals. She began her producing career working for the Emmy-award winning show Behind the Screen for five years at AMC and now is an independent documentary film producer. Postcards from Tora Bora is her first feature-length documentary.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
I came of age in America with the MTV generation and late cold war nightmares of WWIII, star wars, and Reagan's preoccupation to defeat American's enemy at the time: Communism. To a 16-year old girl growing up in a small town, my only access to world politics was Dan Rather and the CBS Nightly News. My cold war history was fragmented and constructed from sound bytes. I would never have guessed that 20 years later I would hop on a plane headed to Afghanistan with camera gear, tape stock, and an Afghan exile to help document her incredible return back after 20 years.
